What sounds better than curling up and watching a car movie? That's a rhetorical question, of course. We already know you're with us on that one. So we've compiled some of the best movies (and TV shows) here, each available on a subscription service, to save you from having to scroll endlessly through Netflix or Amazon Prime. With Formula 1: Drive to Survive, viewers have been able to get a look into the lives of Formula 1 competitors and their teams through the 2018 and 2019 World Championships. Although Roma doesn't revolve around cars, it features many classic ones that look even better on screen in the 2019 Oscar winner for best cinematography. The Lady and the Dale (2021) | HBO

Geraldine Elizabeth (Liz) Carmichael's got the world's attention with a 70-mpg three-wheeled sedan called the Dale but couldn't get her company off of the ground. This documentary dives into the life of John DeLorean, from his rise at General Motors to his development of the DeLorean sports car. And although that sports car is why many people know his name today, there is much more behind this controversial auto exec. Watch it now

Bullitt (1968) | Amazon Prime

Bullitt, starring Steve McQueen (who did most of his own stunt driving in the movie), is a classic that has reached legendary status in the car world for its car chase scene. Ford has since come out with several limited edition Mustang Bullitts based on the one that McQueen drives; when we get behind the wheel of our long term Bullitt, we can't but feel at least a little like Frank Bullitt (Steve McQueen) himself. Starring Ryan Gosling, Drive is the story of a Hollywood stuntman who has a side job of helping criminals as a getaway driver. Featuring fast cars, high-speed chases, and shootouts, this movie will more than satisfy anyone looking for an action movie. Watch it now

Gran Torino (2008) | Cinemax

Gran Torino, is, well, all about a man and his 1972 Ford Gran Torino. The man, played by Clint Eastwood, watches his home town of Highland Park, Michigan, change. The plot is about how he changes, and it's not always easy to watch, but the car is at the center of the story and stunningly, timelessly beautiful. Watch it now

Dazed and Confused (1993) | Starz

Set in 1976, Dazed and Confused is a coming-of-age movie tells the story of a group of high schoolers absorbed in cruising culture. With the main characters riding around in cars such as the 1970 Pontiac GTO Judge. a 1973 Plymouth Duster, and a 1972 Chevrolet C10, it's hard to watch this movie and not get absorbed in the classic American muscle cars that find their way on screen.
